Quote Of The Day

"Most people think that making decisions is hard, especially financial decisions, so they end up burying their heads in the sand, hoping someone else will make their decisions for them. The thing to realize is that by not making decisions, we are really making decisions anyway. We are really deciding that we will continue to do what we have done up until now."

Quote Of The Day

To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven.

Friday Poem (one of my own today)

It's the den o' the bevvy, the Publican's hoose.
Where eyes become glazed and tongues become loose.
Laughter is hearty and sarcasm raw,
And everyone's an expert when it comes to fitba!
Where the old and the young come as one, all together,
To discuss love and work, next door's car, and the weather.
Bravado increases and the meek become bold, As the drink promotes courage, so a Dutchman once told.
At the end of the night when it comes time for closin',
The guys makes their moves on the girls that were posin'.
With silver tongued chat from mouths oiled with the liquor,
They try out their best lines, for a response, just a flicker!
And whatever the outcome; be they winners or losers,
They'll be back once again, to try their luck in 'The Boozer'

Eight Gifts that Don't Cost a Thing!

This simple checklist can help measure how you are nurturing your relationships.

The Gift of Listening

But you must really listen. Don't interrupt, don't daydream, and don't plan your response. Just listen.

The Gift of Affection

Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.

The Gift of Laughter

Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."

The Gift of Solitude

There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone.

Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others.

The Gift of a Favour

Every day, go out of your way to do something kind. Good deeds are cool.

The Gift of a Written Note

It can be a simple "Thanks for your help" note, or a longer expression of your appreciation for that person being in your life. A brief handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime.

The Gift of a Compliment

A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job," or "That was a wonderful meal" can make someone's day.

The Gift of a Cheerful Disposition

The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone.

These are eight important ways we can contribute toward whole and healthy relationships. They cost nothing, yet they may well be the most valuable gifts we can ever offer another person.

"When we take control of our mental state by deliberately choosing our thoughts and attitudes, we can alter the meaning we associate to the experiences we have and results we see in our life."

Beyond Freedom - Day 8

Change and Acceptance

People often struggle with change because they don't know how to change.  We use our willpower in an attempt to force ourselves to alter our behaviour.  Willpower is not meant to be used for lasting change.  It's a short burst of energy that's difficult to sustain.  Willpower is no match for the subconscious and its ingrained patterns of behaviour.  To change, we must make a consistent effort to incorporate new belief systems and habits into our subconscious. We must change our thought processes..but the pay-off is huge.

Quote of The Day

"Do not wait; the time will never be 'just right.' Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along."

Napoleon Hill
1883-1970, Author of Think and Grow Rich

Beyond Freedom - 90 Day Personal Development Course

I am currently on Day 7 of a 90 day home study personal development course and will be providing updates to my progress with any lessons learnt / break throughs / insights as I go along.  For more information on the Beyond Freedom course and the rest of the products available, please visit: www.polarismediagroup.com/stuartmclean/

Day 7 - Positive and Negative Energy
Energy is everything and everything is energy.  Thoughts are also energy and physics teaches us that 'like energy attracts'. This means that one type of energy is drawn to a similar type of energy.  So, positive thoughts attract positive energy and negative thoughts attract negative energy.  Do yourself, and the world, a favour...blanket yourself in positive thoughts and positive energy.  Just that single effort could change your life from one of frustration and anger, to one filled with optimism and opportunity.

Quote of The Day

"To be a champ, you have to believe in yourself when nobody else will."

Six Common Denominators of Success

I have found that following these steps helps keep me focussed on the tasks I need to complete throughout my day.

1) Daily Visualisation
I spend at least 30 mins each day on visualising my goals and dreams.  Personally, I find that a goals board on the wall above my desk with pictures of my dream home, car, holiday destination etc works really well.  I also take time to visit the websites and build the car, take a virtual tour through the showhome or look at videos of my dream holiday destination.  Do whatever works best for you to bring forward the positive emotions attached to the thoughts of what you WANT!  Feel the emotion as if you had achieved the goal already.

2) Self Development
I spend at least an hour a day on reading, watching DVD's or listening to audio CD's of personal development information.  Top tip here is to have an audio CD in the car that you can play even when you are driving to the shops or picking the kids up from school.

3) Income Producing Activity
Do not get stuck in 'analysis paralysis'!  Take daily action to produce the income you need to get you to your goals.  Post adverts, call propsects, hand out flyers, update your blog...but do SOMETHING!

4) Mastermind With Other Leaders
I try as often as possible to pick the brains of the people who are being successful.  This means getting on training calls, picking up the phone and asking for hints and tips, going on webinars..learning from those who have been there and done it. Why take the long road when you can shortcut your way to success?

5) Cultivate the Expectation of Leadership
See yourself as a Leader and others will follow.  I have a belief in the products I use and promote so it is only right that I have a belief in myself and my ability to teach people to do the same.

6) Have an Attitude of Gratitude
I take time out every day to say thanks for the blessings in my life.  It's amazing how uplifting it can be to appreciate the good that is in our lives.  Tell the people who matter that you appreciate them and just see what you get back!

Hope this helps.
